Last Day To Wait

Tomorrow the fellas here at Daniel Steel and Machine, Inc. (our home for the last two days) will get to work on our problem.

Those two little pieces of metal on the right broke which allowed the middle piece to bend out of position.  That piece keeps the two springs in position which in turn keeps the axles in position.  With the front axle out of position, the sides of the rv came in contact with the tires which started smoking and ended up with grooves around the outside.

While we wait we usually sit outside trying to stay in the shade and whatever breeze pops up.  From 10 am to 8 pm it's been too hot to do anything else, since our inside temp is as hot as the outside 90-100.  This morning we decided to take a walk about 9.   The road  the business sits on goes into town on the right

and  on the left to a US 101access road.  We walked that way until the road ended

then right until we saw a walk/bike path back.  By the time we returned--10 am--we were both sweating.  Fortunately at night the weather is quite cool, usually dropping to 55 degrees.

In the evening we kept hearing planes roaring overhead.  They were headed to the Hopkins wildfire within ten miles of us here and less than five from where we originally pulled of the road Friday afternoon.  The fire was contained after burning 300 acres and several homes in and around Calpella.

At sunset--8pm--the sky was clear of the worst of the smoke.

Looking forward to tomorrow.
