Shoshone +

During our bike ride yesterday we stopped for a stretch and a drink at Death Valley Junction at the corner of Bel Vista Rd. and CA 127.  Here we found the Amargosa Hotel

& Opera House.  We don't know if either place has reopened since the pandemic.

At the same spot we found this motley group also stopped for a stretch.  While we were chatting two bikers rolled up asking about gas stations.  The bikes included 5 Harleys, a (Gold)Wing, a Spyder, and a Victory.

Our next stretch stop was at Shoshone, at the junction of CA 127 and  CA 127 (NV 372).

We had hoped to peruse the tiny historical museum here, but it was closed.  We wandered around the outdoor exhibits and found a collection of farm and mining equipment and a display of the types of rock that make up the mountains in the area.

Interesting how long it takes metal to rust in the desert!

Moving day tomorrow.
