Spyder ran and Eagle flew 110 (round trip) miles through beautiful sunny weather to explore Red Rock Canyon National Recreational Area.
After perusing the exhibits in the Visitor's Center and stamping our National Parks Passports, we enjoyed a picnic lunch before
riding the scenic drive
to see the beautiful red rocks up close.
At Calico Tanks we marveled at the streaky brown and tan ridge
and red ridgetop.
Below them was a giant snapping turtle (rock)
The red and white rocks of Sandstone Quarry (with two climbers crawling up the rock face)
nicely showed off the beautiful blue sky.
At High Point Lookout we were treated to a panoramic view of two valleys, this one with Las Vegas spread out in the distance,
and this one of the Canyon valley.
At Pine Creek Canyon trailhead we stopped to put on more layers
for the ride home through the higher elevation of the Spring Mountains.
Beautiful weather, beautiful scenery, beautiful ride.
Louise and Duane
