Brock Got Bored

Brock and Leola hopped on Spyder, we mounted up on Eagle and away we went on our favorite climb up Yarnell "Hill".

Half-way up view of the valley with the old dismantled dairy in the foreground, a hazy view of Congress on the far right, and North Ranch RV Park on the left.

The town of Yarnell found an open space among a huge tumble of large boulders

and settled itself on both sides of the road.

On the other side of town, the boulders disappeared and a vast valley of grasslands appeared.

Brock wasn't satisfied yet and we continued up the other side of the valley

until we found an interesting looking road.  We took off across the mountain ridge

through the ever changing and ever beautiful upland desert.

Six miles down the road we started encountering trees,

then bigger trees.  Trees mean water.  We had started running along the Hassayampa River.

We rode across the bridge for the fun of it, parked on the other side,

and walked out for a view of the river, and the beautiful trees in their early fall colors, and were treated to only one sound--the wind blowing through the willows, aspens, and cottonwoods.  Wonderful!

Brock was finally happy.  We mounted up and retraced our route home.

Tomorrow--??
