Up, Down, Forward Twice

From the desert in Winslow, AZ, we drove 323 miles north today, driving up into the tree line

and down into the desert several times.

We ate lunch in the truck overlooking Lake Powell at the Glen Canyon Dam

before exiting Arizona into Utah.  Here we went forward in time an hour.  Arizona is in the Mountain time zone, as is Utah, but AZ does not change to daylight savings time.  This means Az time is the same as Pacific dst in the summer and Mountain time in the winter.

In Utah we stayed around 6000'.  Along with cooler temperatures, we enjoyed different scenery--biggter trees,

hay meadows, and the Sevier River which meandered along with us for several miles.

Our home for the next week is at this rv park between Hatch and Panguitch.  From here we can easily access Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks, and Cedar Breaks and part of Grand Escalante National Monuments.

This is our third time in this area, and our second stay in this park.  In 2018

we visited both National parks, and Grand Staircase.  This time we plan to visit Cedar Breaks for the first time and return to Bryce Canyon for some cooler hiking.

Nice to be in the mountains again,

Louise and Duane
