3x Worth It

Today's hike started across the road from the Red Rock Canyon (Utah) Visitor's Center along the Golden Wall/Buckhorn Trails.  With yellow hills on one side and red hoodoos on the other

the trail went up the wash before angling up toward the hoodoos.

Duane is just visible toiling upward.

As the trail unwound we found that it snaked up and down around three mountains.  This view rewarded us at the top of the first canyon,

on the level with the hoodoos.

The trail wound around the hoodoos for another vista view

before descending the slope and a series of steps and  along the bottom of the second wash.

Up, around and down we went, then up, around,

for our last vista view with the road 200' below.

Down and down we went.  The trail ended in a campground

where we accessed the hike/bike trail for 1/2 mile walk

back to the visitor center where Duane caught me holding hands (paws?) with Smoky Bear.

Liking this mountain hike,

Louise and Duane
