Eagle flew and two Spyders followed. Joining us on our ride today were our new friends Steve and Cathy.
Our ride was short--60 miles from Chimacum west on US 101
along the Strait of Juan de Fuca
to Olympic National Park for our first tour of this park.
Up we went, 5000'
through very healthy evergreen forests with vista views of the Strait and several valleys.
Three tunnels
and several switchbacks later,
we reached our turn-around point, Hurricane Ridge which offered a panoramic view of the snowy Olympic Mountains.
We spent some time here, photographing and enjoying the beautiful mountains, ridges and valleys before heading back down
through the tunnels
past the valleys and out of the park.
In Sequim (Squim) our new friends took a detour to do some shopping while the rest of us rode on home.
Tomorrow, resting and planning our next tour of Olympic.
Louise and Duane
