Our friend and traveling companion Leola celebrated her 84th birthday today!
We all got dressed in our best clothes (button down shirts) and Brock drove us to Port Townsend for a special dinner.
Our restaurant destination was on the other side of town, past the ferry to Whidbey Island
through old town
to the Strait of Juan de Fuca
to Doc's Marina Grill. This small plain looking building
was small and plain looking inside also, but served first-class seafood dishes and first-class service.
We're all smiles after finishing our first course--She Crab Soup made with Dungeness crab. After that we stuffed ourselves on other seafood dishes. Our conversation during dinner consisted of "Umm! That's delicious!' and "Oh! That was delicious!"
We had a nice view of the water as we walked to the truck.
Thank you Brock and Leola for letting us celebrate with you!
Tomorrow, a long trip.
Louise and Duane
