Small Victories

This morning at pt Duane was actually able to pedal the recumbent bike for 4 of his 5 minutes.  He asked the therapist how he was doing and was assured that he was right on target in his recovery.  This evening he was able to walk a mile before he was done in.  He’s having a love/hate relationship with his pain medication.  The one that does the best for pain relief during pt or other exercise makes him dopey but doesn’t enhance his sleep.  The other helps him to rest better, but is not as effective against pain resulting from pt.  He hates both of them because he dislikes taking pain drugs, and because he can’t drive while he’s taking them, yet he still has to take them for the time being.

I started my (1000 piece)  jigsaw puzzle last night.  I managed to get the pieces color sorted and  the frame put together.  Today I assembled the sky and the mountains, about 1/4 of the puzzle, in about 3 hours.  I’m enjoying this one.  It’s a bit tricky, but not ridiculous.

Our lives overflow with fun!

Yea for Duane. Paul hated the meds too. He got off of them very quickly.
