Yesterday--all day and a long ride west along the Umpqua River and lots of fun, today--1/2 the ride in 1/2 the time but still loads of fun
Once again with Spyder carrying Brock and Leola, Eagle led the way east
along (and occasionally crossing) the Umpqua River
with a few curves in the mostly flat road.
Our turn-around point was the Cavitt Creek covered bridge, rebuilt in 1943.
This was a beautiful spot, quiet except for the chuckle of the stream over shallow spots. The afternoon was cool and clean.
After enjoying the spot, we took a different route home. We stopped to explore this spot in the river
where the Umpqua River coming in on the right is joined by the Little River coming in on the left.
The ride home was more interesting with more views of the river and surrounding hills
and more curves and climbs.
More covered bridges coming up.
