Blink!

Our family time with Ruth Ann and Stacy today started with dinner at Belgian Bistro.

From there we walked a block up the street and found a good spot to view the parade which kicked off this year's BLINK, one of the largest light, art and projection mapping events in the nation.
The four day event takes place in downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, spanning more than 30 city blocks and crossing the historic John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge over the Ohio River.  BLINK will turn the region into an outdoor art museum with large-scale projection mapping installations, murals, and immersive art (large moving projections, and booths where you are surrounded by artworks of lights.)

The parade route was lined with spectators sporting their blinking lights.

Participants represented dance studios, civic groups, high school marching bands, and other BLINK participants, some decked out in elaborate costumes, but all wearing blinking lights.

Some groups had clever moving animals or sea creatures.  Duane's favorite was the horse drawn chariot.

I liked the dragon.

We watched the end of the parade, which continued another block to cross the bridge mentioned above into Kentucky.  The bridge itself blinked several different colors.

Since we had to pass the Bistro on the way to the car, we stopped for take-out dessert.
Back at the house we shared waffle crust cheesecake, chocolate mousse cake, and key lime pie.

Yum!

Shopping tomorrow,

Louise and Duane
