Whatever was going on in my head ( sinus congestion I think) the past several days seems to have cleared up. Today my work went without a hitch. I was able to prepare the backing and pin the three layers (back, batting, top) together in just three hours. In the evening I quilted the whole thing, stitching "in the ditch" (along the seams).
That white edge is the batting which is laying on top of the backing. My plan is to flip that edge over to make the borders tomorrow.
