Pan Handle

A nice day for our 200 mile drive today, along rolling hills with very little traffic and lots of scenery.

After we arrived at our rv park in Vernon, TX and set up, we drove to town for a late lunch, stops at the fuel pump, and the grocery, then we were ready to settle in for the evening.

There were other restaurants in the area, but the 3 we tried were closed between 2pm and 5pm.

The Rocking A RV Park is easy to find, on the west end of Vernon, just off US287, and situated right next to the local Walmart.  This building houses the office, gift shop on the left,  restrooms/showers on the right, and laundry in the back.

To the right is a little play area.

Across the drive is a small pool and picnic area.

The sites are long and spacious, with plenty of room for big rigs.  There are some back-ins, but most of the spaces are pull-thrus.

Here we are for the evening.  That building behind us with the orange on it is the Walmart, within easy walking distance.  Even with the highway and the Walmart close by, we felt safe here.  There isn't much to see in the area, but this place is just fine for short stays.

Tomorrow, we have a longer travel day.
