Shoppin’

Route 66 gets all of the publicity, but there are many highways like it.  US2 is one.  It runs from St. Ignace, MI to Seattle, WA.  We have been traveling pieces of this road all week.  We took another piece of it today to Spokane to visit the Costco.  (We really just wanted a short ride before we put the Eagle back in its cage for the long ride tomorrow.)

The road is typical US highway with long stretches of  beautiful scenery interspersed with small towns with attendant small businesses, recreational areas with their gas stations and restaurants, and an occasional city where big box stores and chain eating places live. Every once in a while we passed boarded up, falling down buildings which once housed thriving business along this road before the interstate system took over moving us across the country.

Interesting things we saw along the way.  Yes that sign is advertising  Royal cannabis, recreational and medicinal are legal in Washington State.
