Each time I start a new decade I inform the child nearest me that "I expect a big 'do'."
Since son Jeremy was closest, he took up the gauntlet. He and the family took us to Jack Ryan's Steak & Chophouse, a relatively small "hole-in-the-wall" upscale restaurant in Kilgore (TX).
Three appetizers and three desserts were shared around the table, while everyone offered tastes of their entrees to those who wanted them.
A fun but classy family dinner Texas style: go big or go home!
