Loop B

For our daily walks we decided to acquaint ourselves with all of the trails Tyler State Park has to offer.  Today we opted for B loop which starts just outside our campground.  This is the walk that was rained out a couple of days ago.  Today beautiful blue skies and bright sun added contrast to the dark green trees and the shade they provided.

At the top of a hill this path parallels the park road that we walked yesterday.

Up here is an open savanna

where wildflowers such as this orange butterfly weed proliferate.

What goes up must come down again.  Wildflowers prefer the sunshine and are hard to find in the shaded forest.

Here the colors come mainly from fungi.

The trail today was rated as moderate.  It was  3 1/2 miles long, but we enjoyed every step.

Tomorrow is our first day on the job.
