Cruisin The Country

Today was the day for bike riding.  The temp  was still chilly enough to make us wear lots of layers, but the sunny blue sky was too beautiful to resist.  Our ride was simple--US 64 east, NC 22/42 south, NC 24/27 west, NC 109 northwest back to US 64.
There are no particularly wonderful roads or scenery on this trip 100 mile trip around the North Carolina countryside.  We rode for the fun of riding under a beautiful blue sky.

Midway through our ride we stopped the Midway Grill outside Robbins for lunch.  The menu was as small as the restaurant, but the sandwiches and fries were good, and the staff welcoming and friendly.

We tooled along enjoying the last of the fall colors

and the few tall hills and sweeping curves through the Uwharrie National Forest that CR 109 had to offer,  but mostly we were just glad to be out on the bike on such a beautiful day.

Packing day tomorrow.
