Half The Plans

One plan for the day involved riding the bike inland to Copper Falls for some hiking.  The gray sky deterred us from riding the bike, but we took a chance with the truck.  The road turned out to be the best bike riding road we've found in this area, but before we got very far we were enveloped in rain.  We went to the park anyway, gathered information, decided the rain had settled in for the afternoon, and went back home.

In the evening the clouds let the sun out to play.  We took the truck on an errand, then decided, while we were out, to fulfill the other part of our plan--a visit to Little Girls Point to hunt for Lake Superior agates, and a stop at Saxon Harbor.  Little Girls Point turned out to be a State Park with lots of campers looking for agates on the rocky shore.  We we found a few keepers and a lot of leverites (leave 'er right there).  We were told that Saxon Harbor was a place to visit, but what we found was a lot of construction of a whole line of new docks and nowhere to park.  We turned around and went home.

During our exploring today we discovered that the best motorcycle roads seem to be inland.  The road to Copper Falls turned out to be nicely curvy and hilly.  We also saw 4 deer--and was able to get a good picture of a little fawn.  At the shore I was able to get a shot of a gull in flight.  Too bad the computer refused to load any pictures.

Tomorrow's another day to try again.
