Goodbye City, Hello Country

In order to spend some time with the girls today, we had to get up pretty early—6:30 to be exact.

We had breakfast together at this breakfast/lunch restaurant.

This is not a mom and pop cafe, but a trendy place for breakfast business meetings.  Stacy and Ruth Ann chowed down on avocado toast and eggs.  Duane and I opted for the most traditional breakfast we could find.

After breakfast it was back to Troy and our daughter Rachel’s back yard for the last time.  While Duane rested from all the pickleball and step climbing of the last week (did I mention that the girls live on the second floor? Or that we often went down to the basement garage when Stacy was driving?)

Now for the next few days we will pursue such interesting activities as throwing walnuts at the pine tree,

swinging as high as possible then jumping off with manly poses (we never tire of this, apparently),

and throwing the football, before going to soccer practice or a soccer game.

I am also sure that the croquet course will be re-laid before we leave for the last time this year.

Activities tomorrow?  Don’t know.  We just roll with it.
