The morning was taken up with soccer. All three grandkids had games, one right after the other. Today it was Simon’s turn in the limelight.
After all of the games were over we had just enough time to get ready for Maddy’s 13th birthday party. There was the usual assortment of friends and relatives,
plenty of good food,
the cake (Maddy frosted and designed it),
and the presents.
Time for some outdoor exercise.
We also welcomed the newest family member, Micky.
Micky is the boys’ cat and will be an outdoor cat when he gets big enough. For now, though, he stays in a crate in the house and gets lots of TLC.
The real party started after the family party. Five of Maddy’s friends arrived for an overnight.
All in all, a most satisfactory day.
