Two Parks

Off we went into the wild starting with Banff National Park, since we were already here.  The day was mostly cloudy with patches of sun, but we were undeterred.

The northern Rocky Mountains are very high and sharp here with snow still clinging to the tops of the crags.

Some glaciers are still around too.

Wildlife comes first in Banff with high fences to keep everyone safe.

Several overpasses are provided for the animals to cross the road.

Across the Continental Divide is Yoho National Park in the province of British Columbia.

We rode in and out of gray clouds and rain and white puffy clouds with bright blue skies.

Yoho seemed to have more long valleys and snowclad peaks.

All the glacial meltwater rivers  in Yoho runs west.

A little roadside lunch spot by a small river which widens to a pool here.

After lunch we rode to and around the little town of Golden, then headed back east.  In Banff Duane and I saw the backside of a deer, and Brock and Leola saw the same side of a bear.  In Yoho we all these bighorn sheep right by the roadside.

See the face in the rock?  I don’t mean the one that looks like a lion head, but the guy’s face (about where the lion nose and mouth would be).  Zoom in and you can see his tongue!

Back across the Divide and into Alberta’s Banff Park again.

Now all of the water is flowing east.

The scenery in Banff is gorgeous! Those glaciers are so intimidating.

Yoho National Park is just as gorgeous. What a beautiful ride.

I did see the face...hehe
