A new winter storm added another 2 layers of frozen stuff to the existing four. This morning we were awakened by freezing rain and this afternoon we watched two inches of snow fall.
Our neighbor brushed all the snow from his boat yesterday. That's all new stuff.
During the day we snuggle up together in our living room. Since Duane can't pound leather, he amuses himself with his phone, the old laptop computer, and keeping warm in the comfy chair. I have no problem whiling the hours away with my challenging jigsaw puzzle. We take turns watching our shows onsatellite or put in a dvd.
We are inconvenienced by the freezing weather. Our fresh water valve is frozen shut so that we can't fill our fresh water tank, but we can fill gallon jugs from the spigot outside for cooking and drinking, and a bucket for bathroom use. Our waste water tank valves are frozen shut, so that we can't dump tanks and have to be very sparing with the water we put down our drains. We are "cooped up" on one small space with our two heaters so that we conserve propane since our truck is frozen and we can't get out to get more. We really can't complain, though. We have electricity which means we have heat, and plenty of food and can prepare warm meals. There are hundreds of people in Tyler who have no electric or water.
Counting our many blessings,
Louise and Duane
