Rally Ride

The Eagle heard the call of the open sea and flew us north on CR3005.  The ride along the Gulf was pleasant with a cool breeze and frequent glimpses of the ocean.

Across the San Louis Pass we rode along Galveston Island

to Galveston at the end of the island.

The sea wall keeps the ocean from the city and provides easy access to the beach.

I think there is a law along the coast that says that buildings must be colorful.

The Pleasure Pier was still there.

One part of the 2017 Lone Star Rally was held in two locations.  One was along the coast road.

We wandered up and down looking at all of the vendors.  I found this contrast interesting.  The Christian Motorcyclist were handing out water and coffee while across the street a nubile young girl wearing leather underwear was selling beer.

The main part of the rally was located in Galveston’s historic downtown.

We saw a couple of Slingshots

and a few Spyders

some over the top paint jobs

and a couple of baggers.

We both liked this little duo.

For the way home we took I45 to TX6 inland.

I liked the wavy pattern to the wall and the street lights.

CR2004 took us south to home.  It, like all of the roads around here, is pretty much straight and flat,

but that doesn’t matter to bikers.  They just love to ride.

That’s all until there’s more.
