Moving On

We left the Sullivan, MO Flying J Truck Stop this morning under completely overcast skies.  This is good for travel because there is no sun glare.

We continued on I44 which runs south west across Missouri.  At times in runs on top of old Route 66.  At times 66 runs alongside or meanders off to one side or the other.

The trip on I44 from Sullivan to our next stop at St. Robert/Waynesville is short—only about 60 miles.

This is a good thing because the last half of the trip was a nightmare of heavy rain.

In Waynesville we exited the highway and backtracked on Rt 66

this little city park.

Rubidoux Spring Campground & RV Park is owned and operated by the City of Waynesville.  There are about 20 or so pull-thrus and about that many back-ins.  30/50 amp full hookups are available at most campsites.  The sites are gravel, and fairly level, with grass between each one.  That silver thing on the left of the tree is not a horse trailer.  It is the restrooms/showers.  Each door is a shower stall with toilet.  Small but very clean.  Rates are $20 night, $100 week, $300 month.  It is very quiet.

We planned to stay here three nights and ride the Ozark scenic byways.  Today turned out to be a travel/chore day.

More rain predicted tomorrow, but maybe there is a short ride in our future?!
