Learning Curve

The California boys are visiting Texas.  Today son Matt and grandson Jack arrived for deer hunting season.

Duane, Matt, (grandson) Luke, (and I) shared pizza with

(r to l) daughter-in-law Jennifer, Jack, (granddaughter) Allie, Jennifer's dad Roy, and son Jeremy (with his pet monkey Luke on his shoulder.

Jack, who lives in a small neighborhood in the Bay Area of California, always has a few things to learn from his Texas cousins:
how to shoot a rifle--first a .22 caliber which is quiet and easy on the shoulder, then the deer rifle which is a lot louder, and packs a wallop--

and hit your target (not bad for a first-timer).

how to safely drive the quad,

goof off in the Fishin' Shak (with Luke the monkey)

and kayak on the pond

and swing over the water without getting wet,

and who gets to sit in the comfy recliner.

At the end of the day everybody was still smiling. Even though they all have school tomorrow.

on Friday they all take off with their dads and Roy for a long weekend at deer camp.

We'll see them again on Monday.
