Not long before Duane's participation in his very first pickleball tournament, his favorite paddle (right) gave out. He bought a new one (on the left), because it is very similar to the old one
This tear in the plastic is not smooth and pliable. It is hard and raised from the surface on both sides of the paddle. This is enough to send the ball somewhere other than it is intended to go.
He's hoping to be comfortable with it before the tournament.
Time will tell.
