A Day In The Life

This is pretty much what we have been doing here at North Ranch Escapees RV Park (near Congress AZ) on the days that we don’t take a bike ride.

Duane carves the grandkids’ Christmas ornament for this year.  Here he is marking his initial design on a block of basswood.

Then he uses the power carver and a knife to rough out the shape.

After he gets them all roughed out, then he will carve the details and finish with paint.

Ten done, three to go.

I crochet blocks to add to one son’s afghan.  The original is queen.  He requested that it be enlarged to king size for the new bed.

I look the way I feel after making several blocks—a bit loopy.

The papers mark spaces that need a block.  64 done, 4 to go.  After I get all of the extra blocks sewn  on (with yarn), I will add a border to finish it.

For playtime we play pickleball,

Duane plays more pickleball than I do, and I do more walking and card playing than he does, but whatever we do, we have fun.

Our motorcycle riding has been somewhat curtailed by our crafting projects, but mostly by the hot weather.  The nights are really cool here, but the days warm up quickly as soon as the sun clears the horizon.  Meantime, we will be doing more of the same—crafting, playing, exercising, taking motorcycle rides.
