Moving Testimonial?

What happens to those balloons that float away during a birthday party or are released in huge bunches during a memorial ceremony?  They don't float into the stratosphere and pop into nothing.  They land back on the ground or in the ocean and lie around until they are picked up and biodegrade in a landfill?  A very few (like this one) might end up in a landfill but they don't biodegrade.  Most of them  just break into tiny pieces which wildlife mistake them for food and eat them.  In the ocean the larger pieces join the huge floating trash heaps or are mistaken for jellyfish and eaten.  The tiny pieces are eaten by krill which are eaten by fish and whales.  When we eat fish which have eaten plastic pieces we eat plastic too.

Grilled fish and plastic! Yum!
