Faulting actions has caused fantastic vertical upthrusts of the sedimentary rock layers.
Gyrations in the rock layers.
Always the changes of vegetation and color. Note the deep blue sky. This was our first day of clear blue cloudless sky. Beautiful!
During infrequent rains, the water gathers force and rushes through the canyon.
We found no petryglyphs either. Apparently someone named ME decided his/her graffiti was more interesting and important.
Here I was trying to capture the odd dark formation mid pic. There is nothing like it in shape or color nearby.
From red to green. Note the changes in vegetation on the canyon floor. In the wash and wide spaces there is abundant growth. In the narrow spaces, the plants can't withstand the rush of water--when it comes!
After a while I couldn't think. I could only gaze in amazement.
Just when you think you've seen it all.........
No life?
The road narrows further.
Gila lizard
Desert iguana
Tenacious life--straight out from a crack in the wall!
Desert iguana--we think.
More lucious pistacio green.
The road to the canyon and in the canyon was mostly this width!

Amazing adventure you guys....it looks like you had the canyon all to yourselves! I put it on our "must see" list.
I LOVE these last two blogs. What beautiful pictures. I just had Paul write down Titus Canyon as a must see place. How long do you think we should plan to visit that entire area?
