We pulled out of our crooked site in Prairie Creek Park and up to the dump station, then around again to load the bike in the only slightly even place in the park. Emptied and loaded, we rolled out of the park and headed north on I49 out of Arkansas
and into Missouri.
We left the Ozark Mountains behind, blew through rain
and straight past Nevada.
No more rain showed itself all day, but signs of it were everywhere.
170 miles and a little over 3 hours later we stopped for the night at Show Me Rest RV Park. This is a tiny park between Joplin and Kansas City MO, with only about 16 sites. We may have left the mountains, but our site was not level enough to remain hooked up. It was spacious, however and quiet in spite of the interstate traffic just beyond those trees on the right, and it is a Passport America park and cost us only $15 for the night for a 50 amp full-hook up pull-thru site!
Our rig is the only dark one, facing me.
The park is located at the corner of the access to I49 and I49 business loop. Three of these corners were very busy, but the fourth, offered safe walking. Behind our rig and across the street is a huge livestock operation. As I passed these cattle, they all crowded up expectantly.
I walked as far as the mowers, enjoying the country and the view of I49 on the right, then turned around
and noticed these beauties, bright in the late afternoon sun.
North again tomorrow.
Louise and Duane
