Day three (Saturday) of Duane's battle with the stopped up toilet in the kids' rv saw him go down in defeat. Even though he did his best with the rooter,
he couldn't get through the clog. He put the cover back on the pipes and called it quits.
After lunch the family convened at the house for an afternoon of work.
First order of business--get that new pool blown up and full of water!!!
The rest of the afternoon Sr. did some caulking and helped Jr get the inside ready for dry wall installation on Monday. Brandey stained the doors and mowed grass. I pulled nails from where drywall will be installed, and picked up trash. (The roofers left a boatload of trash in that scrap wood pile on the left in the background.)
On breaks we enjoyed watching sky divers from the business across the field,
laughed at the antics of butterflies which weren't afraid of humans, including this one which looks just like a hair barrette,
and watching the children play in the new pool. It was a gradual process as they grew accustomed to the cold water: feet first,
then knees,
finally flat out.
In the evening we babysat while Jr and Brandey enjoyed some alone time. Alyssa, who is always moving and talking or singing, was the only one who fell asleep as only a child can.
Last day with the Whitewright, TX family tomorrow.
Louise and Duane
