No! No! No!

No rain, no tricky roads, no construction, just mostly sunny blue skies, green fields, and light traffic for our 4 hour drive from Des Moines, IA east across the state on I80 to Davenport/Moline.

There we crossed the "mighty Mississip" then turned south for a few miles to Geneseo Campground, our new home for the next five days.  This is the closest we could get to Colono, where our friends Kenny and Lisa live.   We actually crossed the Mississippi three times today.  After we set up we drove 15 miles  to Kenny and Lisa's house for a chat,

then went back across the river to Moline for dinner.  Kenny explained that Illinois and Iowa pooled their funds to build the new bridge going up here.

In this view part of the new bridge is visible--about 1/2 way across from IA to IL.

When we met Kenny and Lisa in Saddle Mountain RV Park in  Tonopah, AZ last winter, we discovered that our favorite place to eat is Texas Roadhouse.
Good trip, good visit, good ending to an all around beautiful day.

Back to Colono tomorrow.
