During our stay here at Prairie Creek Park outside Rogers, AR, we've walked the park on several occasions. From the marina last week we saw this unusual structure in the day use area and decided to explore it later.
This morning we walked around to the day use area parking lot. The boat ramp is on the right (not pictured). On the left is the ramp pictured below, partly submerged by the flooded lake.
Straight ahead is the building that intrigued us earlier in the week.
Closer inspection of the structure revealed that it is used as a fishing tournament weigh-in station. The front of the structure is open and empty with garage doors covering storage areas on both sides. behind the wall are fish holding tanks,
Contestants float up to these stairs (not usually under water), and take their fish across the grass to the tanks.
After lunch Duane helped me assemble my polished glass into its final form, and get it boxed for shipping tomorrow or Tuesday.
Moving day tomorrow.
Louise and Duane
