Prairie Creek Park

Prairie Creek (Corp of Engineers) Park on Beaver Lake, AR consists of several campsite loops on two hills separated by a road leading to a marina and a day use area.

Until next Monday (the 17th) we are sitting in site 7.
From the living room (l to r) we can see the entrance gate (above the fire ring)

the road to our site (straight through the woods here is the road to another camping area),

 and trees.

From the front door we have a good view of the road to the lake.  Across this road is another hill with the other camping areas.

View of our rig from the road in the pic above.

Going toward the lake, the near road leads to campsites.  The campsites are of varying lengths, but all the sites are shady and nicely spaced.

The far right fork leads to the marina.  The gate fee allows access to all the campsites and the marina.

View of the boat ramp area from the marina.

Part of the marina parking lot is under water to to flooding from recent heavy rains.

The left fork leads to a day use area only.  This is a separate fee area for anyone not camping here.

Located here are the boat ramp (with a view of the marina),

picnic areas, a sand volleyball pit (the lake is flooded right to the edge of the area),

a nice big swimming area

and the Grand Shelter

In our walking around our wildlife viewing has been limited to a squirrel or two, a few birds including this Muscovy duck,

and a small herd of deer.

Planning a ride tomorrow.
