The City of Rogers Adult Wellness Center was where I used my Silver Sneakers card for the first time. The 55,000 square-foot facility provides a wide variety of activities and classes to assist people 50 years and older to live healthier and more active lifestyles, to age actively, improve quality of life, and achieve whole person wellness. The right end of the building houses an activity pool, warm water therapy pool, library with computer lab, demonstration kitchen, arts and crafts studio, and multiple meeting, social, and educational rooms. There is a wellness garden also, but I don't know if it's inside or outside.
After we signed up at the desk in the lobby, we passed a table with a jigsaw puzzle in progress, some offices, and a glass-walled room full of tables and chairs where people were socializing. Turning left we passed this state-of-the-art fitness center with cardio and strength training equipment and a walking track.
(The pic is dark because my camera likes to misbehave.)
On the left of the training center is this pool room with a room (behind the wall with the picture) where people were doing some kind of stretching class. We walked through this room to reach
the full-sized gym where all three pickleball courts were in use. I had trouble at first trying to keep myself within the pball court which has white lines except in the center court where the black line is the center line, otherwise the black lines are basketball courts, and the green are shuffleboard.
We enjoyed several games of pickleball in the morning before an afternoon of chores.
Down to our last two days here.
Louise and Duane
