Officially Nasty

What to do on a nasty Saturday?    (See What? Again? blog for the icky weather scale)

Since we are in Texas to visit family as well as doctors,  we drove two hours to spend some time with our son Duane Jr, daughter-in-law Brandey,

and grandkids Ava, Emma, Alyssa, and Coy.  For now they live in 1/2 of building that houses their business,  a Cross-Fit type gym.

Emma showed us her new saddle that she won.

When the kids finished lunch, we drove a few miles down the road to view their new house.

The house was structurally sound, but needed updating.  The saw is sitting in front of the future entertainment center (on the right) and the work table is taking the space where the kitchen island will be.

The house was secondary to what they really wanted--the land.  The children participate in horse competitions (how Emma won her saddle) but have to board their horses elsewhere.  This land offers ample room for pasture, a corral, and

has a suitable building for a barn.

It also has two fishing ponds

a creek, and plenty of space for the kids to run around and explore.

After our visit retraced our drive through the dreary weather, made a quick grocery stop and holed up for the night.

Tomorrow, more visiting.

Louise and Duane
