Cabin Fever

At least the rain has stopped.  The sky continues to be solid gray, and the outside temperature is hovering in the mid 30's.  Our poor little electric heaters are working overtime to keep the inside temperature tolerable.  In the garage (Duane's space) temp is 57, the highest it's been all day.

The past three days since we arrived at our home for the time being in the Trails At Lavendar Road RV Park in Tyler Texas, we have managed to keep busy,  first with chores and with visiting family over the weekend.  Today however, we had to be creative.

Duane took the truck to Kilgore (30 miles away) to take care of some business that he might have done over the phone. He discovered that he has to take a written and driving test in the new truck pulling the house to satisfy the Texas licensing requirements concerning the total weight of the truck and trailer. He will take the written test then set an appointment for the driving test.  Hopefully he can get the trailer inspected just before the driving test, so that we won't have to hitch up twice.   He also learned that the bike leaked oil from a faulty oil line.

I stayed home trying to keep warm, rewatching a favorite movie on dvd and making comfort food for lunch.  In the evening we ended up back at the Glass Recreation Center for some indoor pickleball.

As we drove to Tyler to play, I noticed that the light was brighter.  Lo and behold, the sky in the west was pale blue and streaked with pink clouds!  The western horizon was aglow with yellow light!  Amazing!!!  On our way home the sky was black and full of stars!

Hurray!  The sun is still up there!
