Our ride through the country took us across Lake Conroe
through part of the Sam Houston National Forest, up and down gentle swells,
around graceful curves,
past country “estates”,
and small ranches
through little villages,
and some construction.
Our turn-around point was Carlos, TX for lunch in this place.
The first time we were here, a couple of years ago, we came on the weekend with some bike (motorcycle) riders we met in the Lake Conroe TT park. They haven’t arrived back at the park yet. Neither have a lot of people, apparently.
The last time we were here this place was packed with people eating inside and outside front and back.
Today there were three people sharing space with us.
We had intended to take a different route home but got turned around and mixed up. and ended up backtracking the way we came, went back across the lake and home.
In the evening we played pickleball with our two new people from yesterday—Tammy and Rick, and two new people from today. Unlike Rick and Tammy who have never played before yesterday, Lee and Gary have been playing singles pickleball but hadn’t played doubles. We had fun playing different combinations of players.
Another beautiful day on tap for tomorrow.
Louise and Duane
