At Lake Conroe Halloween is a big deal (you’ll appreciate my pun later). In spite of the cold north wind, people were out and about. Kids’ activities were held throughout the day. In the evening people were bundled up sitting outside by their fires,
and kids were playing.
As usual, kids were using the pickleball courts for tennis. The mini golf course was full of players. All of the play areas are lighted at night, when the teen come out.
After our walk this morning, we holed up until Ohio State eked out a one point victory. By then Duane was ready for Casino Night at the activity center.
We checked out the silent auction,
and settled for the 50/50 raffle. Here we signed in and received a ticket for $2000 worth of chips free .
The table game dealers were all eager to take your chips at
roulette,
craps,
blackjack,
and Texas holdem’
This last must be a big deal. The winner gets a trophy.
If table games are not your style, you could try your luck with the bandits,
including this one.
I don’t enjoy these games, but Duane was happy to spend my 2000 chips for me. I left him with his dealer and headed for the house. Duane didn’t win any of the door prizes that were given away.
I had to pass by the band that was playing country rock outside the AC. It was so loud, of course, that people were standing as far back as they could get.
Last day tomorrow.
