An afternoon off school left us with lots of time to play today. We started with lunch out,
then a movie--with popcorn and sodas, of course!
The family spent the evening at the Whitewright Elementary School fundraising evening. Instead of the kids selling products, every grade hosts a booth. The event is held on the football field from 6 to 7:30 pm.
For this event, the ends of big suckers were colored with these colors then stuck into a straw bale.
The girls tried their luck at ring toss.
All of the kids walked the cupcake circle hoping to win a treat.
After all of the booths were cleared away, the stadium lights were turned off for the walk/run in the dark around the 1/4 mile track. (Kids collected money for this earlier in the week.)
There are a lot more people out there than is shown by the lights.
Jr and Brandey switched off running with the girls and walking with the little ones.
Emma made it 18 laps (4 1/2 mi.) and Ava finished 23 laps (5 3/4 mi.) They are 8 years old.
All of that running made us tired. After sitting in the bleachers watching for about an hour we went home to rest!
Almost out of time now.
Louise and Duane
