Hey! The sky's still blue! There's sun up there! Today for our walk we had to put on sunscreen and wear wide-brimmed hats!
This our walk. We walk down the rv park driveway, turn left,
and walk past the park then up the first hill.
A short level walk takes us downhill and up the other hill.
The road runs straight for a bit then drops down about three feet (not really a hill) curves
and curves again. A short walk to the next hill brings us to 1 mile and our turnaround point. We retrace our steps to home.
This looks like a nice country road for walking, but a really good look shows that the road is narrow two lane with lots of blind hills and curves. The sides of the road are high grass and wildflowers, saturated ground with puddles, and lots of fire ants. When we first started walking here a month ago, we would be passed by an average of 6 vehicles flying at full speed. Since the onset of covid19, the average number of vehicles has jumped to an average of 15 speeding vehicles that pass us on our 40-50 minute walk. We can usually hear a vehicle coming before we see it, but sometimes we don't know if we're hearing Interstate 20 traffic or cars approaching us from the direction of the interstate.
Our nice sunshiny walk in the country is really an exercise in caution, but at least it gets us out of the house and exercising.
More sunny warm days to come!
Louise and Duane
