New Digs, Old Friends

I don't know if US 50 is designated a scenic highway, but it ought to be.  For  170+ miles  from Cincinnati to Coolville, OH, we were treated to picturesque villages and towns, farms and forests.

Muted fall colors and a cool temperature told us that autumn has definitely arrived.

After 4 hours we arrived at our home for the next week, Carthage Gap RV Park.  The park is large, with two sections separated by a wooded gully.  The first has more mature trees and two small buildings--the tiny office and the laundry/showers behind it.

Our section is more open which suits us--better satellite reception.

Our friends Brock and Leola greeted Duane when he pulled in.  I chose to walk and was greeted with open arms.

We spent a nice afternoon chatting and planning a bike ride for tomorrow, then wrapped up the evening with a trip to our favorite steakhouse for prime rib all around.

These pix were taken with my inexpensive but waterproof  and shatterproof camera. (My other one died when I dropped it too many times and then forgot to bring it in out of the rain.)  I've noticed that bright light tends to darken colors, and it takes an extra second to focus, but it is pretty sturdy and is much easier to operate overall.

Tomorrow we'll see how it does on the bike.
