Big Three

Gray skies, rain, and lots of road construction were our companions today on our 167 mile drive from Egan, LA to Baytown, TX.

On the way we passed 2 big cities with big oil refineries:
Lake Charles, LA,

and Baytown, TX.

We crossed a lot of  bridges over swamps and rivers, including this high one

with a railroad track at water level running alongside,

and the Sabine, the border between La. and Tx.

In addition to big cities and big refineries, we added a third "big"--a big blowout.

Fortunately, damage was limited to the tire and the corner of the slide (bent upward).

Good Sam's Roadside Service promised service in 3 hours.  We didn't wait.  Duane used his handy dandy new heavy duty impact wrench and had the tire replaced in 10 minutes.  15 minutes later we were parked in the Flying J rv parking for the night and enjoying mid-afternoon lunch/supper at Denney's.

One more day to travel.

Louise and Duane
