South and North

Lake Huron was visible as we hopped the bike for an 180 mile ride.

Down the hill from the rv park we turned right, went through St. Ignace and across I75 where we accessed US2.  2 runs west along the bottom edge of the UP  and the north shore of Lake Michigan.

We made a random stop at Gros Cap view point and discovered  very exciting surprise--a bald eagle floating above our heads!

Further west we found big sand dunes on the north

and sandy beaches on the south.

US2 runs along the entire southern edge of the UP.  Most of the time Lake Michigan is within sight.  The exception is between Naubinway

and Gulliver, where it runs inland about 4 miles.
We stopped for lunch at this quiet little park next to Gulliver Lake.

Just to say we did, we continued on to Manistique before we turned around and rode US2 home.

We were wearing coats with liners and were getting chilly when we saw these people playing in the breakers.  Then we were cold!

Only two more days to complete our UP tour.
