Yesterday we started south after two weeks in Ohio for Christmas and our niece's wedding. We stopped for two days in Georgia to visit with our good friends Wayne and Denise. Wayne and Duane were both plumbers in Ohio.
Normally we would have spent today touring around the Atlanta somewhere, but Wayne is recovering from a broken foot and unable to to much but sit. This was fine with us. After two weeks of almost constant activity with family, we were ready for a rest. This morning we all slept late, enjoyed Denise's biscuits and gravy, and spent the rest of the morning getting around to showers and clothes. We wiled away the afternoon with chat, then rallied ourselves for a drive through a beautiful evening sunset
to enjoy Firehouse Subs for supper.
Back at the house we spent a quiet evening. Our friends advised us to leave before 7 in the morning or wait until after 9 to avoid the I75 gridlock around Atlanta. We decided to get up at 6, pack up and hit the road. We said goodbye to our friends before we went to bed early, since we will be leaving before they get up tomorrow. (They have more sense than we do.)
Thanks Denise and Wayne for an excellent visit!
Louise and Duane
