Molten sunrise and increasing clouds opened the morning of the day we left Alpine, TX.
We followed US90 south east through hilly country
of interesting geological formations.
As we neared the US/Mexican border we picked up that side road. Border patrol drags it with old tires to smooth it. Anyone entering the US from Mexico can’t cross it without leaving footprints. Low-tech, but apparently pretty effective.
We also entered an area of long n/s ridged cut by deep canyons.
Just across the Pecos River
we arrived at our new home for the next four nights—Seminole Canyon State Historic Park.
The next few blogs will be short because of the difficulty in posting in this area of few electronic connections. We should be able to post everyday, though.
Always hopeful,
Louise and Duane
