On a beautifully clear, crisp, blue sky morning, our Ohio friends Gene and Barbara drove us in their truck west through the land of buttes and mesas.
An hour later we entered the fray that is Quartzite in January.
We were there to shop so we drove through town, across I 10 and directly to the Flea Market and the Big Tent. As we pulled off the road to park, we sighted this road runner. Awesome!
Our “parking lot”
We shopped the Flea Market.
We shopped the Big Tent.
We shopped outside the big tent.
We shopped the rock market.
We ate ice cream made on-site at the Flea Market, then found our truck and headed home.
The desert looked very different going home. We enjoyed watching the sun and shadows play across many weirdly-shaped peaks.
We left at 9am, and returned at 5pm tired but happy to have spent an entire day in bright sunshine.
Tucked in for the night,
Louise and Duane

I am going to get a photo of a roadrunner this year in AZ, if it kills me!
