After we had looked around the Hohokam villages at the Sears-Kay Ruin for a while, we took a look at the view from the top of the hill.
Brock, Leola, Duane discussing the Sears-Kay Ranch in the distance at the right, and wondering how the Hohokam people carried water up the hill from the springs at the bottom.
Looking down the hill just past that sign above.
That’s the road we came in on with a view of a golf course across the way.
Safely back down at the parking lot. Hurry for the old folks!!
Spyder and Eagle took us back to Cave Creek where we stopped at
Dairy Queen for some refreshments and one last chat before we said good-bye for a long while.
One last hug from Brock and Leola, then Duane and I retraced our ride of this morning. This one was much more enjoyable. Instead of gray clouds and cold wind, we had sunshine, blue skies, and warm air. The sun brought our the colors of the desert.
Cave Creek perched at the foot of the hills.
It was a treat to see several hot air balloons coming in for a landing on both sides of the road.
We were delighted to see para-gliders too.
Gold and silver linings
A beautiful end to a wonderful day.
Louise and Duane
