Positive Proof

Our daughter Stacy has been trying to get us into kayaks for years, but my friend Cindy finally persuaded us to take our first ride.

Here  I'm helping Cindy unload.

Ready for our first lesson--getting in and on the water.

Proof that we are actually in the kayaks learning to paddle on the still waters of Mogadore Reservoir (OH)

We sighted several cormorants and an osprey or two.

Cormorants visible as dark spots roosting on dead trees

Cormorants with osprey on far right

Time for a water break

Exploring lily pads looking for blooms, we were doomed to disappointment.  The blooms had gone, leaving only seedpods that look just like shower heads, but we learned how to back out of the lily pads.

Reloading

There's a trick to this,

but Duane and Cindy got 'er done.
Living proof that we're never too old to learn new stuff.

Only one more day of fun for Cindy and me.
