Jesse was still at hunting camp but Katelyn and Bella came to spend the day with us. Bella couldn’t wait to show her mom our cool toilet. (She’s 5, ok?) Katelyn was duly impressed and liked the rest of our house as well. After Bella had enough of sitting around chatting, we headed to the beach with a slight detour.
Katelyn and Duane declined to put their feet where they couldn’t see them. Bella and I weren’t afraid though.
She tempted fate once too often and ended up getting her shorts wet,
then stepped in a hole and and enjoyed herself immensely.
We gave her clothes a shower and stuck them in a dryer.
Katelyn gave her a shower and stuck her in one of Duane’s tshirts. We enjoyed a pretzel snack and some kaleidoscope fun while we waited.
Next stop was a Freeport seafood restaurant for a late lunch of shrimp, scallops and crawfish tails and vegetables.
Too soon our day was over. We collected our hugs and kisses and said goodbye until February.
Interesting things we saw at the beach:
a ship sitting at the entrance to the intracoastal waterway,
a pelican on the beach,
a tiny hermit crab.
Moving day tomorrow.
Louise and Duane
